Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
