Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
