▼ 52 The Mountain

Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad SAW)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot! 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
