Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
True are the words of God the Almighty.
