Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
