So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe! 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
