Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Proclaim, “Go on waiting – I too am waiting along with you.” 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
