Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
