So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
