The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it sets: 1 Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray; 2 Nor does he speak out of desire. 3 It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 While he was in the highest part of the horizon: 7 and then drew near, and came close, 8 Till he was two bows length off or yet nearer. 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 His heart did not lie of what he saw. 11 Will you dispute with him what he saw? 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 This is an unfair distinction! 22 They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
