The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 nor speaks he out of caprice. 3 This is naught but a revelation revealed, 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 very strong; he stood poised, 6 While he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 Thereafter he drew nigh, then he let himself down. 8 So he was the measure of two bows or closer still. 9 He revealed to God's servant whatever he wanted. 10 The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. 11 what, will you dispute with him what he sees? 12 And assuredly he saw him at another descent. 13 Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 Neither did sight falter nor exceed the bounds. 17 truly did he see some of the most profound of his Sustainer's symbols. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 What! Will man get whatever he dreams of? 24 Nay! for Allah is the hereafter and the former (life). 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
