The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 your companion is not in error nor has he gone astray. 2 Nor does he speak out of desire. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 One of mighty powers hath taught it him. 5 One vigorous; and he grew clear to view 6 When he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 Then he drew nigh and came down 8 And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; 9 and revealed to God's servant what he revealed. 10 His heart did not falsify what he perceived. 11 Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 He saw Him indeed another time 13 Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. 14 Near it is the Garden of Refuge - 15 When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it! 16 (Muhammad's) eyes did not deceive him, nor did they lead him to falsehood. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have you considered El-Lat and El-'Uzza 19 as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? 20 What, have you males, and He females? 21 That indeed is an unfair division -- 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he coveteth? 24 Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 25
