The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 your comrade is not astray, neither errs, 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 It is naught but revelation that is revealed, 4 He was taught by one Mighty in Power, 5 Of might, he (Gabriel) stood firm 6 standing poised at the highest point on the horizon, 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 Till he was two bows length off or yet nearer. 9 So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)]. 10 The heart lied not in that which he saw. 11 Are you, then, going to contend with him regarding what he sees with his eyes? 12 And indeed, he saw him a second time 13 By the lote-tree of the utmost boundary, 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you then considered the Lat and the Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the other? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 That indeed is a division unfair! 22 They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 To Allah belongs the Eternal life and the first life. 25

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
