The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 nor speaks he out of caprice. 3 This is only revelation communicated, 4 and taught to him 5 [an angel] endowed with surpassing power, who in time manifested himself in his true shape and nature, 6 While he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon, 7 Thereafter he drew nigh, then he let himself down. 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. 11 So will you dispute with him over what he saw? 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 By the Lote-tree beyond which none can pass, 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it! 16 The eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit. 17 for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 That indeed is a division most unfair! 22 They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or is there for man whatever he wishes? 24 All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
