The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Star when it setteth, 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. 3 It is but a revelation revealed. 4 and taught to him 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 then drew near and suspended hung, 8 until he was but two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And indeed, he saw him a second time 13 By the Lote-tree beyond which none can pass, 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 When that which covers covered the lote-tree; 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 and Manat the third, the other? 20 What, have you males, and He females? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them. 23 Or shall man have whatever he fancies? 24 Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 25
