Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
