Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
