Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
