(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
