Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
