Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
