Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
