HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
