Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. (Command of Prostration # 12) ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
