Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
