Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 He plunged the villages 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
