Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
