(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
