Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
