Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
