Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 Thamud, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
