Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
