Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
