Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
