Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
