Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
