Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
