HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
