(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
