So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
