Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
