Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
