Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 He plunged the villages 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
