Al-Najm 3 of 3
HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
