Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
