Al-Najm 3 of 3
Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
