Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
