Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
