Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
