(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
